Our Community Values

As part of our membership, we invite members to practice these shared agreed values:

Care

Showing up for ourselves and others with kindness, honest intentions, and compassion while honoring each other’s identity, pronouns, culture, and creativity as well as our contributions to collaborations. Co-creating a culture of consent, listening, and honoring boundaries, recognizing consent is reversible.

Community over Competition

Celebrating each other and recognizing that community helps us thrive. Valuing how we treat each other throughout the entire filmmaking journey over external validation, awards, or industry recognition.

Solidarity

Practicing a mentality of abundance that there is enough space, opportunities, and recognition for all of us. Recognizing our many resources (spiritual, emotional, cultural, social, capital) and sharing them within capacity, especially with those who have less access.

Collective liberation

Actively working to dismantle racism, xenophobia, colonialism, transphobia, misogyny, and all forms of oppression within our community and beyond.

Accountability

Recognizing we are interconnected and our actions have an impact on others. Openness to repair & healing when possible.

Together we hope to build safer, more joyful, and equitable futures.
